Dmitry Ponomarev is the founder and driving force of the company.

He is a reputed electronic engineering and telecommunications professional with a vast researcher experience and owner of unique entrepreneurial abilities. This combination has allowed the IT-companies under his management to become market leaders.

Dmitry Ponomarev graduated from the Gorky State Polytechnical Institute in 1974 and worked there till 1989. In 1979 D. Ponomarev earned his Ph.D. and became Associate Professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering and Cybernetics, Gorky State Polytechnical Institute. He designed curricular for students who chose to embark on career paths in the most advanced areas of the IT industry. His research interests lay in the field of antenna measurement.

In 1989 D. Ponomarev with a team of colleagues founded MERA. Originally the business specialized in antenna measurement and antenna optimization technologies. Dmitry Ponomarev has raised MERA from a small R&D company with a handful of employees to a Russian leader in outsource programming for telecommunications.

He is the president of the MERA Group of Companies and the chairman of the board of directors for MERA Networks, Inc., a software development company headquartered in Toronto, Canada. In this capacity D. Ponomarev provides strategic direction for the MERA group of companies. He is also a co-founder and board member of a number of Russian telecom service providers.

Dmitry Ponomarev holds a Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering, is the author of more than 70 research works and holder of 12 patents in electronics.
